My Story

In 2013, after hearing Tony Kirwin the founder of Destiny Rescue speak at Hawkesbury Church, I decided to resign from my position as a teacher and move to Cambodia to be a part of bringing hope and restoration to children and teenagers rescued from the sex trafficking industry. So, in January 2014 I packed up my house and life in Sydney and moved to Cambodia where I became an ACCI missionary, volunteering for Destiny Rescue. At that time my role was to homeschool the Country/ Project Managers two sons. That role quickly evolved into working alongside the Khmer teacher and the many girls we had in our care. During that season I had the privilege of establishing the education program for our beneficiaries and mentor our Khmer teaching, counselling and house staff in understanding and working with children who have special needs. After volunteering with Destiny Rescue for two years I returned to Sydney in 2016 to work. It was during that time I accepted the offer of taking on a Project/ Aftercare Managers role with Destiny Rescue for 2017. I have now begun to oversee  a team of incredible staff and volunteers who work tirelessly with the beautiful young people in our care . It is an absolute honour and privilege.

Why I need your help…

While I have worked and raised much of my own funds, my role with Destiny Rescue is in a voluntary capacity and also relies on the support of others to enable me to do this work in Cambodia.
